A good hand of "poker" will result in someone taking home the
$10,000
Grand Prize.
The Hi-Lo Poker Run is a fund-raising event where the
participants register a boat, bike or car for a $200 entry fee in return
for five
certificates - each certificate good for one hand of poker.
There will be 10 Destination Points set up along local
waterways for the boats and a few on optional locations for
the bikers and cars on land. The more Destination Points visited during the day, the more
cards you earn thereby increasing your chance for a better
hand. The
10 Destination Points will be "manned"
by local restaurants and businesses who are helping to
sponsor the event.
The
boats, bikes or cars have from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to visit each
checkpoint. This
leaves plenty of time during the day to enjoy the water, lunch
at one of the sponsoring restaurants and have a good safe
excursion since the event is not a race and there is no need
to hurry.
Immediately following the destinations, participants will meet at
Guy Harveys at The Wharf to enjoy fun, food, beverages
and to determine who wins the
grand
prize.
Participants will be dealt poker hands one-on-one by a
dealer while trying to get dealt the very highest hand.
Towards the end of the evening, the top four
"Hi" hands,
the one "Lo" hand, one auctioned hand
and the winner of the "Early Bird" drawing
(Participants who registered prior to April 20th) advance to the
final round.
In
the final round, the 7 participants will play 5 card draw.
The low hand will be eliminated.
This continues until there are two final participants
who will cut the cards for the grand prize.

Various
prizes will be raffled or given away throughout the evening.
Proceeds from the event will be used by the Kiwanis
Club of Gulf Shores for local community projects and
charities.
To process your entry please complete the
application
